Champion Fire Safety are an end-to-end service provider, meaning we look after all your fire safety needs from initial consultation, right through to client aftercare. Under the Fire Services Act. 1981, it is the obligation of an employer to ensure that all reasonable measures are taken to reduce the risk of fire outbreak on the premises. Furthermore, the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act. 2005, places responsibility on the employer to conduct risk assessments and respond accordingly. It is the duty of the employer to provide and maintain firefighting equipment, to carry out training and to plan and practice evacuations. As industry experts, we will ensure you are compliant with Irish Fire Safety Standards, to prepare and protect your staff and premises in the event of a fire related emergency.
To provide a personalised and professional approach to your company’s Fire Safety needs, we follow a 6-step process.
Our installation and maintenance process begins with an initial consultation over the phone to determine the client’s needs and expectations. During this phone call, our service engineer will ask questions to gain further insight into the nature of the company, to identify potential fire safety hazards and risks. At the end of the call, an appointment will be made for a Senior Service Engineer (SSE) to visit the site to conduct a survey.
On the day of the scheduled survey, our Senior Service Engineer (SSE) will contact the named person, to ensure adherence to the correct visitor protocols. The SSE will then do a thorough inspection of the premises to identify potential fire safety hazards, adequate protection and compliance with standards. Upon completion of the survey, the SSE will meet with the named contact person to discuss their findings and address any concerns or queries the client may have.
After the Survey, the SSE will draw up a proposal for the client based on their findings. The proposal includes an inventory list of equipment in place and outlines the suggested work to be carried out to comply with Irish Standard 291. If applicable, the proposal will outline recommendations for new firefighting equipment or safety signage appropriate to the specific hazards. Furthermore, the proposal will also include any suggested upgrades or training recommendations. A cost breakdown will be included in the report and sent to the client. Once the client is satisfied with the proposal, an appointment will be made for installation and maintenance.
Depending on the size of the site, one or more of our Service Engineers will arrive at the scheduled time to complete the installation service. New firefighting equipment will be securely and safely fitted with minimal disruption to operations. We will ensure all equipment is accessible, safely located and clearly identified. We will then service any current fire safety equipment to comply with Irish Standards. On completion of the installation, a detailed report will be provided to the client. This should be retained in your Fire Safety Register for Inspections, Audits and Insurance purposes.
Irish Standard 291, states that fire safety equipment should be serviced by a competent person annually, or more frequently depending on the nature of the environment. We will inform you when your next annual maintenance service is due. During our maintenance service, we will do a comprehensive check of the fire extinguishers and perform tests, refills and replacements, when and where appropriate. A third of Fire Extinguishers will need to be taken off site for testing. During this time, replacements will be provided where necessary. As standard practice, a Maintenance Certificate and updated report will also be submitted after each Annual Service. Annual maintenance of your firefighting equipment is required under IS291. Depending on the nature of your business, you may require more regular inspection. At Champion Fire Safety, we offer period inspections, visual inspections and pre-audit inspections to protect your business.
We provide dedicated customer aftercare following the installation and maintenance of fire safety equipment. We pride ourselves on clear communication and building strong, longstanding relationships with our clients. Our team is available to address any issues or concerns you may have.
